Co-ownerOS™

Also known as:

Co-owner OS, CoownerOS

TL;DR

CoBuy's software platform for co-buyers and co-owners — structuring shared homeownership from purchase through ongoing operations to exit.

Co-ownerOS™ is CoBuy's software platform designed to help co-buyers and co-owners manage their shared purchase and ownership. It is the system of record for active co-ownership — covering the full co-ownership lifecycle from buying through ongoing operations to exit. Co-ownerOS™ operates as a standalone production application at app.cobuy.io.

What It Does

Co-ownerOS™ structures the decisions, agreements, finances, and coordination that multi-party homeownership requires. The platform follows three stages: onboarding, governance, and steady-state operations. During governance, groups work through a step-by-step process to build consensus on ownership shares, financial obligations, policies, and exit strategy — producing a Co-ownership Agreement and Memorandum of Agreement that can be digitally signed, shared, and updated over time. During steady-state operations, the platform provides shared tools for financial tracking, document management, and ongoing group coordination.

Why It Exists

Co-ownership introduces complexity that standard real estate infrastructure does not address: multiple parties with different financial capacities, decision-making authority, time horizons, and life circumstances — sharing a single asset and often a single mortgage. Without structured systems, these dynamics produce misalignment, missed obligations, unresolved disputes, and preventable financial losses. Co-ownerOS™ provides the governance, documentation, and operational coordination that shared homeownership demands across its full duration.

Who It Serves

Co-ownerOS™ serves groups of two to four people who are buying or already own a residential property together in the United States. This includes friends, relatives, unmarried partners, married couples co-owning with others, and multi-generational households. The same platform infrastructure applies whether a group is actively in a purchase transaction or already on title — same workflows, same governance pattern, same operational tools.

Core Capabilities

The platform includes a governance workflow for structured consensus-building across ownership structure, finances, policies, and exit terms. It generates and manages Co-ownership Agreements and Memoranda of Agreement with digital signing, version control, and blockchain-anchored verification. Operational tools include a Property Events Calendar for shared scheduling and reminders, a Document Vault for multiplayer document management, and a co-owner dashboard for property value tracking and activity monitoring.
